SCS is "Smooth Clean Surface" - a special low carbion sheet steel that is made from basic hot rolled black. In the SCS process, rust and mill sclae is brushed away, leaving the surface extremely clean and very resistant to rust. No protective oil or coating is needed to keep the SCS steel from rusting when stored indoors.
